This is Basil. Back in gradeschool, children called him Baz, but he would really like to forget about that. He was raised in the countryside of England by two parents, both of whom were quite rich and had strict ideas about the proper way a son should behave. Too bad he defies most expectations for normality. He's got an IQ above 180 and flaunts it quite arrogantly while trying to make a living as a private consulting detective. Unfortunately, his name isn't well known in the business, despite his extreme powers of observation and intelligence, so he spends nights tinkering cleaning the chemistry lab at Walten University. He's prone to smoking incessantly, playing violin, and walking around the city when in a fit of boredom, though it takes someone daring to start a conversation. He's not exactly the friendliest looking person to meet on the street. But, at the end of the day his heart is in the right place, however black and shriveled it is.

Right now, Basil's number of friends is roughly zero, unless you include associates that he uses for information on cases. He's a hard person to impress, and an ever harder one to tolerate for very long. He's prone to irritation, and sarcasm, and hell... he's just plain rude most of the time. If you do manage to get on his good side(usually through a show of intelligence, or simply by standing up to him), you've got a damn useful source of information: Basil does, after all, know a lot more than he ever lets on. If you're his friend, he might let you in on the secrets

Sadly, he has gotten a reputation for attracting enemies like flies to candle-light. Though he doesn't exactly go out of his way to start confrontations, his status as a busy-body and a meddler is starting to precede him. People(especially on the wrong side of the law) are beginning to pick him out as a threat, and though that means his chances of getting cases are higher, there's also more risk involved. Of course, on a less dramatic note, he has a habit of getting on people's bad sides no matter what. It's just his sparkling personality.

Absolutely none. At least, so he thinks. Basil has only gotten himself tangled up with the fairer sex several times in his life, and each one left him hurting. He has very little trust for women, with their mood swings and temper tantrums, and explosions over trinkets and hairpins. Though he fully respects the undeniable powers of the female race, that just means he's not willing to get involved with it. It would take quite a woman- equal to him in wit and personality- to pull him out of his contented bachelor ways.

I can see Basil just looking at Grace and thinking bimbo, she gives that off from a glance I guess, well, to a man of intelligence haha. But they have playing the violin in common, but I’m sure he wouldn’t even imagine the she’s pick up a violin, more like a mag. Plus the fact she’s pro feelings over intelligence, a bit of a hippy, I doubt he’d even want to instantly click with her. Ahhh and she’s prone to being dramatic, which again Basil dislikes… but I think they could get along, eventually xD Maybe they should meet in a museum and he’s totally questioning her worth in being there. I don’t know, I just wish to plot, that’s all (;

Basil would probably find it positively puzzling to
see a blonde female of all things in a museum. Of course,
given that she's all about feelings while he's all about
facts, I imagine their conversation would be amusing
at the very least. Besides, Basil does have a flair for the
dramatic :3. After all, he's got a whole closet filled with
costumes and disguises, and he never just states his
points. He embellishes them with unnecessary theatrics!
I think it could work, at least for humor's sake x3.
