Jake had seen this coming, so it didn't surprise him. But it still hurt him. More than any injury he'd ever sustained. Bella Swan was Jacob Black's best friend, and now she was leaving. He could try to stop her, try to make her stay... With him. But he knew it would be a wasted attempt. Her heart still wished for him. That evil bloodsucker that had changed her life so dramatically. Him and his so called family were the reason Jake had changed too. He detested them. But Bella didn't, and she knew what she had to do...
...So he let her go.

That was three years ago, and Jacob has gotten over Bella Swan. She's just a memory to him now. Bella is gone, the bloodsuckers seem to be gone too. Right now on the reservation, it seems like things are turning out ok. Jake's sister Rachel is back from college, and although he's happy to see her after four years, she isn't a wolf, and the secret must be kept from her... Or does it?
Jacob has taken up his place as alpha, and is proving to the older generations who know, such as his father and the Clearwaters, that there is enough room for two alphas at the moment. But will things stay that way?
Things seemed to have settled down on the reservation now. No more vampires, no more boys changing into wolves. Maybe some of the older wolves can stop their shifting and start to age again? Or maybe something bigger is on the horizon.
