LONDON - JANUARY, 1941
We are a strong, proud nation; we hoist our colors high and with great pride and
dignity. Britain has survived through thick and through thin, even with little hope
for the future. We’ve always kept ourselves going, fighting tooth and nail to come
out victorious. But now, we face a dark hour. Is it possible that we have stumbled
into a war from which we shall not return? With thousands dead and even more
injured, it seems just so. Britain is under the almost constant bombing from Nazi
forces.
Almost everywhere of great importance has been hit and each night our people go
to sleep wondering if they will ever wake up and where and who is next. Our
morale is at an all time low, and that is exactly what they want. The world is at
war, our enemies formidable. But we must press onwards. If we fail, the world may
never be the same. Can we win this war? Will we defeat the axis powers? When will
America wake up and join our fight? We can only hope that it will be soon for there
seems to be no hope in sight.
