meaning of name: Grant means "great, large" and is sort of manly which is something that I wanted since he does have a bit of a girly middle name. Alexis means "helper or defender" which is the core of Robin Hood. It's also semi girly which goes with the name 'robin' which is also girly. Hood is taken directly from Robin Hood, because it fits and cements the character even more.

* - - - the fairest of them all

Grant is tall, standing about six feet, and weighing in at an average one hundred and sixty pounds. He works out meticulously to keep his six pack immaculate. He has dark brown hair with reddish highlights that pop out in the sun, a pointy chin, deep, dark brown eyes. He most notable feature is probably his smile, he uses it a lot of the time, and it has a mouth full of fairly straight white teeth. The reason for his teeth was the fact that when he was able to he got braces. As a child his teeth were extremely crooked and needed correction. As a result of them being fixed he is often seen, smirking or smiling. His body does have quite a few scars on it, from various activites growing up. Some of his more non pretty features would include the fact that his eyes are very dark and hooded. Heavy eyebrows, deep set eyes, often cane make him look distressed or even mad when he isn't.

Grant is the master of disguise when it comes to his clothing choices. While in his normal everyday life, he is normally seen in extremely casual clothing. Ripped jeans, concert t shirts, hoodies, sneakers. Nothing out of the ordinary. When in the office, he is always seen in slacks, sports coats, button up shirts, ties, dress shoes. He takes his job very seriously, and dresses to the occasion.

Grant had this part of them that will probably always remain a bit of a child. He does his best to see the good in eveyone. He is open minded to any and everything. Nothing bugs him more then having to be stuck up and strict with himself, and that often leads to him not following through on promises that he makes to himself, like diets, healthy eating, keeping away from the girls. It's a bit of a problem that he can be a little too carefree sometimes. Again, he doesn't have a problem letting a homeless man spend the night in his apartment or putting him up in a hotel room. He is sweet that way, trusting, carefree. Nothing can truly stress him out, and he is very relaxed about pretty much anything, unless he is in front of a judge, and then he is the toughest most hard headed person out there.

Grant is loyal to a certain type of people. He is loyal to his friends, his family, and those that are in need of help. The underdogs are the ones that he is loyal to. He would go to bat for any one of his co-workers or clients because each one is someone that is in need of help or needs him and he would be there in an instant. He is the type of guy that will get up at three in the morning, drive around until he finds which bar his friends are at and drop each one home, because it's important to him that they are safe and soun and can come to work the next day.

Ah...Grant's major trait is that he is dedicated to his cause. He is a lawyer that often works pro bono or waits for his payment until the claims are settled. That's right, Grant here is a lawyer that helps the average man attack the man and get lawsuits and money from major corporate companies that think that just because they have billions of dollars they can do what ever they want, even create and do harmful things that usually kill people. Since his parents died due to a major company, he does everything he can to fight against the man. It is his life at the moment. He eats, breaths, and sleeps work. It might turn into something horrible but for the time being he is content with it.

Some consider him a thief for what he does. Some say that major companies shouldn't have to pay fines and the thousands of lawsuits that people file everyday. Some also say that since he does file those lawsuits and he is doing it for a just and worthy cause why does he make his clients pay him. Well he is a human afterall and he does need something to live off of. He knows that what he does isn't probably the best thing in the world, but if it helps bring awareness to certain topics that the world seems to be missing or glazing over then it's worth it and his clients know that they are hundreds of ways that he can take payment, as long as he gets his money he will be fine.

Grant Hood can also be a little bit funny. His jokes can sometimes be off colored or a little blunt, but he does it in all honesty and they are genuine in their good nature. He does offend, and even though he usually doesn't mean to, he does get a little kick out of it when he does. It can put a person in their place, and hell he is a man after all. He isn't perfect.

John and Elizabeth Hood fell when they were in highschool. Both lived in England at the time and were next door neighbors and best school mates. It was a real love story, straight out of the storybooks. During their highschool years, they fell madly in love and were truly destined to be together with plans of marrying when they graduated. Both sides of the family couldn't have been happier for the young couple and it all seemed picture perfect and just according to plan. Well one night, the two realized that they were pregnant, at seventeen. The families were a little crushed and so were Lizzy and John. They had such plans and now they had to tend to a child as well. Well, they graduated and got married right away. Both of their plans to attend University a little shattered but not unreachable. A few months after they wedding, little Grant Alexis Hood was born. His father was just starting University to be a lawyer and his mother was taking some onlien classes to supplement her degree until she could attend the school with her husband, because raising their child with a parent present was important to them both.

Grant had a fairly average, everyday normal upbringing. He lived in London, England for his entire childhood. His mother eventually returned to school, and he didn't have any siblings so he learned to entertain himself with school and hobbies outside of school. One of his favorite sports as a child was archery. For some reason he saw a young person playing around with a bow and arrow in a physical education class and it was like he was hooked. He loved it. The soaring of the arrow once it had been released, the bow strings as you pull it back. It was the perfect sport to him and he was rather good at it, entering into some minor leagues as a child. It was a rather uncool sport for a young man and he often got picked on. Middle school is where he met his best friend in the entire world. The kid was the type of kid that everone liked from a distance but no one really got the chance to talk to. Well one day Grant did go up and talk to him and to this day Ryan has been the one person that Grant could always talk to. He was Robing to Grant's batman, or vice versa whichever the situation saw fit.

At the age of ten, his mother got very ill. You see she was working in a factory, making buttons. Well, a lot of the factory workers started to get ill, and as much as Lizzy tried and fight it the cancer took over and eventually she passed. It was the end of something for Grant, without his mother, he just didn't know what to do. Well, John fought with all that he could to figure out why Lizzy got so ill. Turns out that because of all of John's 'digging' they found some very interestin evidence. The company was dumping toxins into a nearby water gully which was being brought back into the company as drinking water, and for other things. That's how she got so ill, the chemicals that they were constantly using was being consumed by many workers and over the years all the chemicals started adding up and getting people really ill. Eventually the company killed off about five of it's long standing employees. Even though John found out the answer he couldn't understand why it had happened and started drinking. Grant slowly watched his father drink himself to death.

By the age of fifteen, Grant Alexis Hood had lost both of his parents to cancer. He ended up moving in with an Aunt Kelly who took care of the broken young man. He had a bit of a troublesome side after that. Constantly getting into arguments, fights, and he started stealing stuff. It was little stuff at first, a pack of gum, a book, just silly childish things, and as the years went on, he acted the perfect gentleman on the outside while at night and when he could he would steal anything that he could get his hands on. He didn't do it for the rush or anything, he didn't it simply to amuse himself. One day he did get caught and he was very blase about the whole thing. What was the point. All he had to look to was his Aunt and even though she loved him and did her best to look after him it was still hard on her, and she wasn't coping well. He stopped stealing after a while, not truly seeing a need to anylonger. Instead he began to read and became interested in law like his father, especially corporate law. It was his spark and a way to get back at the people that hurt his family and were hurting other people. He could steal their money and give it to much more deserving people.

It was the spark he needed to kickstart himself into reality again. He found a way to help people that he was good at and he still thought of it as stealing a bit. Taking from those big corporate companies that were just out to hurt people without a care in the world. So he finsihed up his highschool years in London, and when it was time to figure out where he wanted to go to college it was a tough one. Eventually he chose Oxford, and got many scholarships and the lot to help pay for such an expensive school. Now corporate law wasn't something that was highly sought after. Many eager law students wanted the criminal law, and he was happy to just float through his studies. He went through four years of the basics, with not a problem in the world, and his years as a law student were equally as smooth. After graduation, he passed the bar exam which made him an offical lawyer, and his Aunt couldn't be happier. He hadn't turned out as bad as she thought and seemed much better as a man then he had been as a child.

During his last year of pre-law, he met a girl. A gorgeous girl. Margaret. She was an angel on Earth, or at least Grant thought so. He was twenty one and he was so in love. It seemed that he would repeat his parents and find his true love at an early age and they would live happily ever after. They sort of did. They married once he graduated, and she got pregnant right after. He was in heaven, started law school, her being a teacher, it was perfect. She was fiesty and could handle him and all his aspirations. He loved Margaret. The baby was going to be pure joy. Was. Margaret went into labor and neither one made it out. She did her best and tried so hard and for a while after, the young Widower Grant could barely function. He managed to get through his classes just fine, pouring himself into his work and his classes and making it through each day. Having seen what had happened to his father he wasn't going to take that chance. When Maggie died he had been twenty-four.

So needing a fresh start and having eventually passed the bar exam. Grant packed his things and moved to Walten City, NC. He had a cousin that lived in the states. He settled into a pattern in Walten. Working as a lawyer, making people laugh when he had the chance and moving on from his wife. It's a hard life, helping people take money from 'the man' but it's worth it. He fights everyday for his mother and in turn his father and is learning to move on from Margaret because he knows that she would want him to. She was kind like that. He has lived here for two years and is making a name for himself, and a lot of multi-billionaires have his head in their number one slot on their hit lists because of the amazing work he does for people who need him to help them get justice.

Now Robin Hood is described as carefree, a bit of a badboy, and kind to a fault. Grant Hood is very similar. He loves to be relaxed, and he fights for justice and equality for everyone. Doesn't matter who you are or what you need. He will be the one to help you no matter what. He has a tendency to do what needs to be done without regards to big name companies. Where Robin Hood steals from the Prince, Grant wins from big companies. It's an updated version of a great hero that is truly a criminal.

Well truthfully, Grant has that grin that we are so used to on Robin's face. It's the mischevious grin that you just love but know will probably get you into some kind of trouble. His clothing is very casual and laid back when it needs to be, but Grant doesn't have a problem with putting on a 'costume' as did Robin Hood for the right reasons. It's all a matter of how you look at things. The names are also similar, with the meaning, and taking the actual last name and using it for Grant.

The history was a little harder for me to make match disney's version, since we don't really have a great back story on Robin Hood. I kept England as a back drop for his history because it was imporant for the ideas to follow through. The "King" being big business. I also added Grant's friend Ryan in there as a close friend just like Little John. Grant's parents death was something that needed to happen so that he would be on his own in a way and would spark him going after what he does to take revenge and make things right with himself. Margaret was a bit of fluff that I added because I feel that Robing Hood, even thougha heroic figure has problems and isn't perfect, plus he hasn't found his Maid Marien yet.
