This application is freaking done andrew carter langsten
* - - - once upon a time full name: Andrew Carter Langsten nicknames: Al meaning of name: I chose Andrew and Langsten because I wanted his nickname to be Al but also because Aladdin didn't seem like a realistic name for the setting and so his nickname is his initials and Genie called Aladdin Al all the time so I thought that was a bit more realistic. age: 26 birthday: July 17th occupation: undeclared part time student and odd job worker play by: Ben Barnes canon: Aladdin from Aladdin
* - - - the fairest of them all One could say that Al is good looking in that rascal sort of way. He's about five feet and nine inches. Being active throughout his young life made him muscular but adding on extra time at the gym made him even more buff. He short dark brownish black hair. He has a wide nose and that bothers him. His eyes are a dark brownish color. He's just very dark over all. His dark complexion makes his teeth stand out even more. He's not hard to look out but he doesn't really consider himself anything special. He feels like he blends in sort of, well with his surroundings more then people because he always seems to have dirt smudged on him.
When it comes to clothing, Al will where whatever he has until he can't anymore. It comes to a point where it the clothing is thread bare and he will throw it out. This only happens when it is absolutely necessary though. This results in Al looking like he's sloppy and doesn't care about his appearance. He doesn't care. It shows. He doesn't get dressed up and he doesn't really like shirts with constricting cuts.
* - - - look deep insideSLICK: When Andrew gets into trouble, and it happens quite often, he can normally get out of it. He tends to just talk his way out of things. He's even been known to use his words to get the rules bent for him such as getting out of detention or something other that's rather meaningless.
CHARMING: This is rather different then being slick or at least it is in Al's mind. True both use words in order to persuade someone or to put on a show, but when it comes to being charming it's more acceptable. It seems nicer then being slick. When Al is charming it's not because he's trying to get out of something, it's because he is being honest. He never gives a false compliment unless he's being sarcastic or if it's being obviously malicious.
TROUBLE MAKER: Andrew is a trouble maker. Though he's not sure if it's more because he likes trouble or more due to the fact that he needs to cause trouble in order to get by. For example: His parents are strict and so he sneaks out of the house to keep from feeling like he's going to go insane from being outside of the house. Being a trouble maker doesn't necessarily mean that he's causing trouble for other people. It could just mean that he's making trouble for himself and he definitely does whether it be through sneaking out or not being able to hold back a sarcastic comment about a superior.
RESOURCEFUL: Andrew is not one of those people who does not think outside the box. He actually thinks outside the box all the time. He's had to be resourceful for most of his life making things last longer then they should such as clothes. He's also one of those boys who if he's stuck in a jam, he'll look around and see what he can use to get himself out of it. He's kind of like a younger modern McGuyver. He doesn't just consider using objects as being resourceful either. He uses what few connections that he has such as his very few friends to help him out as well. Do not misunderstand. He does not use his friends. It merely means that he has friends with various talents and he isn't afraid to ask for their help.
ATHLETIC: Andrew has had a love of sports for as long as he could remember. He likes to bounce around and to generally burn energy. He's tried many sports, but he mainly likes the sports that are more about agility and adrenalin rushes then he does that involve hitting something. He likes mixed martial arts, surfing, and acrobatics. He especially loves the acrobatics though. He likes flipping through the air and feeling generally weightless.
ADVENTURER: Al has always had this sense of adventure. He knows that he's destined to be something other then some foster care statistic. He can't wait to start his own journey starting with college. Even though he's not too thrilled and doesn't have the money to be full time, Al knows that in order to get out of his current situation and to really start some sort of adventure that he's going to have to start with college. This would be his first time living on his own. That's the adventure he's seeking at the moment. He wants to have the same feeling he did when he was young and used to go on little make believe adventures.
SHOWMAN: Al loves to put on a show. He's not an actor but a showman. He can put on a great act. He's got the winning smile and the charming personality that would make him a great game show host. He also has this presence about him. Sometimes it comes off as a bit cocky but other times it's just sort of draws you to him for a second before walking down the sidewalk doing what you were doing before.
LONER: Andrew is a loner. There is just no getting over that simple fact. He feels like he's always been alone almost. It's not that his foster family didn't care, it was just that he still felt like the odd man out. That translated to the rest of his relationships. He always felt like he was odd one out. He feels like nobody wants to be his friend. He's gotten by just fine though. He needed money, he got a job. He ripped his jeans in the middle of winter he patched them out. If he was hungry he did something about it. In fact, he thinks that his longer tendencies have paid off because it's made him a much more self sufficient person.
* - - - the family honor Andrew was the product of a "love" between two teenagers Iris Patil and Robert Edwards. They thought that they could make it if they got married and got jobs but the sad truth was that Andrew's father was not ready to be a father and still wanted to live like a teenager. This left his mother to raise him herself. It did not end well. At least she was able to see that she was not ready to be a proper mother to her child and knew that there was someone out there that could be and wanted to be his parents. She was still young and knew nothing of the process so she signed over her rights and the child was put into the foster care system.
Andrew went through many foster homes. The main thing that he remembers is that he never really felt as if he belonged. He really felt as if he was an intruder on their lives. It sort of made him feel like he was a watcher in someone else's life. Like he was just there and not really a part of it. He wasn't abused or anything like that but since he didn't feel like he belonged he would just cause some trouble and then he would end up going back into the system waiting for another family to try and take interest in him. This process repeated itself over and over again for most of his life.
While he was out getting into trouble, Al got to meet some "shady" people. He met his best friend who just seemed like he was always jumping off the walls. They were really close though. They were one of those unlikely relationships. Then there was his other friend who was a few years older then him. This was the one that really set his parents off. He was a druggie and had a rather loose interpretation of life. He was interesting though. He told Al to kick back and just be himself and not be anyone else. Then there was his friend who was a man of few words but was also one for adventure and wanting to go off. Finally his last friend that he met was one that was rather rude and tried to be tough but in all actuality he was a big softy. They were a band of misfits.
High school was not an experiance that was necessarily good. It was mainly because he just was not one for school. He would always rather be out doing something different. He wanted to make his own way and not have to deal with the rules. This worked for all of five minutes until he got into trouble for shop lifting. It was rather stupid too. He should have just gone home for some food stealing some. It would have been a little slap on the wrist too if it weren't for the fact that his one friend slipped something into his pocket that was of much greater value and so they were all taken for questioning. His foster parents flipped and he was banned from the store. He was grounded for life supposedly and it was just more of a reason to want to leave.
With his last family, Al had a grandfather. He was an amazing man who had been adopted into the family as well. Al felt like the old man understood him. It was really the only deep conection he made with a member from one of the families that he stayed with. He had great stories. He died though when Andrew turned eighteen a few months before he was to graduate. He left him a house though. Nothing big. In fact it was one of the small little provincial town homes. It was perfect for someone like him. It needed a little sprucing but he would be able to get to that eventually.
Andrew knows that he didn't do the best when it came to school. In fact he was lucky to get into college. He hopes to make up for that. He's a part time student at Walten U. The rest of the time he works to pay the rest of his bills and his student loans. He wants to get out of this town and see the world and he thought getting a degree might be the best way to start. He has no clue what he wants to major as but that's what being undeclared is for. After a while he still didn't know what he wanted to do and he didn't want to declare so he dropped out of school. He took up residence with his friends. He works . . . . when he feels like it. He's essentially become a free loader of sorts just doing only what's necessary to survive. He's turned everyday life into his adventure testing the boundaries of everything.
* - - - connect the dots Appearance: simply pout, they're both not impressively tall, they're both dark skinned, dark haired and have dark eyes.
Personality: Aladdin had to be very slick to keep getting away from the guards. My Al is slick in the same manner when it comes to authority. Aladdin is charming, which can be seen when the girls in Agraba seem to be taken by him in the opening number so I thought charming would be a good connection for that. Both caused trouble even though the didn't really mean to. It was mainly just what they had to do. Since Aladdin had no money he had to be resourceful and so Al is as well which can be seen through making due with what he has for the longest amount of time. Aladdin had a thing for adventure which can be seen by the fact that he wanted something more then he had, it's the same thing with Al. Aladdin could put on a show which can be seen by the whole Prince Ali number. Al is the same way with how he likes to put on a show. Aladdin was always doing flips and what not so Al is into sports to connect with the athleticism that goes along with that. Aladdin was very much alone throughout most of the movie until he had his few friends. Al is the same way in the respect that he does feel like he has a family outside of his friends.
History: Parents were not a big role in either of their lives. They both never had a lot of money. They have similar friends. Also with grandfather giving him the house i saw that as being a means for him to start his future such as Aladdin did with the Genie.
