Charlene Bianca La Beaux
* tell us a little about yourself.Oh Lawdy! Well, I am 21, and I was born on Mardi Gras! Of course, I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. My mama left when I was just a little baby, so my daddy brought me up on his own, and boy did he spoiled me silly, too, bless him! There's family money in the bank, so I was brought up with all the fineries- I suppose I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, and let me tell you, I've been eating out of a silver spoon ever since!.Daddy thinks I should learn to be a little less... materialistic, though, so he sent me to live here in Walten City with some family friends in the hopes that some rural surroundings will bring me down a notch. Don't get me wrong- I don't try to be a snot, but sometimes I speak without thinking and it comes out all snobby. But I'm working on it, I swear! Lawd, what else... Well, I love to cook, but not nearly as much as I love to eat! I love
beignets like crazy! They're kind of like donuts, but they're fluffy and soft and sweet and just the bees knees! You can have your Krispy Kreme, honey, and I'll just special order from Cafe Du Monde.
* what are some of your positive traits?I happen to be a great entertainer and I have fabulous fashion sense, if I do say so myself! I can't stand to see my girls in old duds, so if they ever need a new wardrobe, I'm more than happy to find one for them. Of course, it will be off-the-rack- the custom stuff is reserved for yours truly! Of course, any of my posse will always look like a million bucks! Let's see... other positive traits... well, I mean, they're all positive, right? Well, maybe not. But we can skip the bad stuff, right? Anyway, I am a decent rider... oh, and I can manage my own sewing with a little help. I am very friendly, though I tend to talk too much, which can get me in trouble. I love buying things for people- nothing makes me happier than to give lavish gifts. Sometimes it makes people uncomfortable- I can't figure this out to save my life! I mean really, who doesn't love getting a diamond tennis bracelet for their twenty-third-day-unemployed anniversary? Come on, honeybee, Let me pamper you a little!
* what are some things that you can improve on?Oh, well I suppose everyone can improve on something from time to time. Let's see... well, I tend to be a huge flirt, and I'm not very good at fidelity. I also "get around" a little bit- I mean, I'm not a slut, but I certainly kiss and tell! I'm also a bit snobby, as I came from faaaabulous wealth. You'd brag too, honey! As such, I spend money like a mad woman, although it's not always on myself, so no judging, chickpea! I also have a tendency to talk down to people, but I really don't mean to be rude- it's just breeding. I also am quite chatty, so I can't keep a secret to save my life! What can I say- I'm a southern woman: I love a good dish!
* what's your biggest secret? we won't tell.*Whispers conspiritorially* Well... don't tell, but I had a baby when I was 17, which I gave up for adoption to save face for the family. The baby was a little boy, but I never saw him after he was born, because I was embarrassed at my indiscretion and wanted to pretend the whole incident never happened. I think about him often, but I try my hardest not to because it just racks me with guilt. I mean, I can't do the mommy thing. Can you imagine me trying to raise a little boy? They're just no fun. Well, I mean... of course I'd just love him to pieces. I'd spoil him rotten and hug him and squeeze him until his little eyes popped out. But honey... I just can't do the mommy thing. It's just not done at that age.
* what does your heart want?I likeses boys!!! Turn ons include dark eyes, lean figure, good cologne, sarcasm, good sense of humor, and fabulous wealth sure won't hurt your cause! I mean, in all honesty, if you're tall, dark and handsome, you'll get my attention pretty darn quick! Granted, if your wallet isn't equally attractive, you'll lose it before you can say "have a beignet." I cannot STAND a man who doesn't take care of himself. Poor hygiene is just awful, don't you think? And if you can't take a few hours to dress decent, don't bother showing up to my dinner party, because I'll just send you right back out the door, honey. Shine your shoes and clean up, boys. Just do it!
* what do you do in your spare time?I looooove to entertain, so I am constantly cooking and decorating the house so I can throw lavish parties! Of course, this also lends itself to a passion for shopping- I can't show up to my own event without a new outfit! I also enjoy art- I like to paint and sketch, though I'm not particularly good at either. Papa would hire tutors and whatnot, but I always got testy when I couldn't replicate their flawless work and I'd send them off. My favorite things to draw are clothes and accessories. I'm not a total dunce with a needle, so sometimes I can even make my simpler designs. But now that I'm in Walten City, I don't have much spare time because of *gasp* chores! I mean... they keep mentioning milking a cow? I don't think so, honeybunches. Cows are dirty and gross, and they smell like old gumbo. I'll buy my milk at the store, thanks. Oh, I'm being snotty again... er... I'll bring you a clean bucket and you can do that actual milking business, okay honey? See? I can compromise!
* so what does your family life look like?My mom peaced out when I was a baby, so I was raised by my daddy, to whom I am EXTREMELY close. The term "wrapped around my little finger" applies. I'm an only child, so I'm quite spoiled, really. My dad really is my best friend though, and we have always been close. Daddy unfortunately does know when to say no: He decided I was turning into a right little snot, so he shipped me here to Walten to live with "family friends" who have a farm on the outskirts of town. No lavish gowns or jeweled shoes here, much to my dismay. I have to help out with everything on the farm, which means up with the sun every morning to do farm chores, then into town in the afternoons for errands.
The family I live with consists of and elderly couple, Maggie and Jed, whom I call Aunt Maggie and Captain. Maggie is a sweet, matronly woman who never had children of her own, so she's chuffed to bits to have a girl around. Not that she takes any time to spoil me like daddy did- she's all about "use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without." But she really is just the bees knees, even if she doesn't know how to dress. The Captain is just that- a retired sea captain. He's a bit batty, and has a tendency to think he's back on his ship from time to time. He's very sweet and good natured though, and is physically incapable of hurting a fly.
There's also a farm boy that lives on the property- Freddie- who does the night work. He is scrawny and has a penchant for stealing hot buns when we set them on the windowsill to cool. Sweet kid, but I think he may have some sort of allergy to water, because I've never seen the little runt take a bath.
* what are the memorable moments in your life?My momma left when I was a baby, so I've never had a real female influence. My daddy decided I was getting too spoiled living at the manor in New Orleans, so he sent me to live in North Carolina on the farm to get my hands dirty. This turned out to be a great opportunity, even though I complain about it day in and day out. Aunt Maggie is like a grandmama to me, and I really am learning a ton! When I was 17, I got a little careless at a party and got pregnant; I gave my son up for adoption, and I try my darnedest not to think about it because it's an embarrassing affair. Not to mention, I feel horrendously guilty for giving up my own child. But I won't admit that- no, I pretend to be calloused about it. "Why ever would I want a baby soiling my things? Pshaw."
* so we've heard that you're a lot like Charlotte La Bouff
name: Charlie is short for Charlene, a derivative of Charlotte. Bianca is French, a la New Orleans, and La Beaux is French as well and phonetically similar to La Bouff.
play by: Jennifer Morrison: Both have blonde hair, rosy skin, and blue eyes. Also, I saw Jennifer Morrison perform in a play this past week and she does a wonderful Southern drawl, so I think that's perfect!
positive traits: Charlie loves to entertain, just like Charlotte does. They are also both very loyal in their own way: Charlotte does her best to help Tiana out, right?
negative traits: They are both spoiled and very flirtatious, very chatty, and very used to getting their own way.
orientation: They are both boy crazy!!
turn ons: They both love wealthy men who look gooooood! You know- tall dark and handsome, and all that. A foreign accent doesn't hurt either.
turn offs: I don't think Charlotte had any turn offs other than poverty, but I want Charlie to have a little more depth than that. Haha! Of course, Charlotte was pretty disgusted by Naveen's servant, so Charlie probably doesn't go for older men either. Especially little tubby ones.
spare time: They are both entertainers! Although, I don't think Charlotte would have done any of her own cooking. Charlotte always had fabulous dresses, so the fact that Charlie loves to design clothes ties in with that.
family life: Charlie and Charlotte were both raised in New Orleans by their fathers, with no mother figure present. Because Charlotte is kind of a two-dimensional character in the movie, I tried to add some depth with her "family" in Walten City. Granted, there's no mention of any other family in the film, but I based Charlie's relationship with Aunt Maggie on the way young Charlotte acted with Tiana's mother in the opening sequence of the film.
memorable moments: I made most of those up- I wanted Charlie to have a bit more of a sad history than Charlotte did, because Charlotte was such a comedic character. She didn't seem to have any kind of trial in her life, other than not getting to marry Prince Naveen.this application was written by Claire T, who also plays no one yet.
