Simba Brenden Lyon

* tell us a little about yourself.

"My name is Simba Brenden Lyon, which sounds a little unusual to anyone over here I suppose. I was born in Gauteng, South Africa near Johannesburg. I had a Kenyan nurse and she called me simba mtoto, lion child, since the night I was born a pride of lions had wandered out of the wildlife reservation and was roaring all night. My mother was half English and Kenyan so the nickname must have stuck home. Either way it managed to become my first name. My middle name Brenden is a family heirloom of sorts; my grandfather had the same middle name as did his grandfather. I'm not really sure why my family chose to have it skip a generation, but it does.

I was born June 24th, which must have been hell for my mother. There's no summer like an African summer, flies everywhere and no escape from the heat. I am twenty four years old, though sometimes I feel much younger than that. However, I must not look younger since I am constantly told that I look like Sam Worthington.

name: Since the human Simba was from South Africa I decided to keep the original name. In the history it will explain exactly how two English parents would pick a name like that. Brenden means Prince and it sounded like a good English name to represent that part of his heritage. And finally Lyon because Leon had already been taken by spirits from the opposing pride. Simba obviously couldn't be blood related to them, but I wanted to show some sort of connection between the two families.
