Grant hadn't realized how stressed he had been until he got into the middle of a lake and was fishing, there was just something about it, that made him wan to hug Katya because of what she had done for him, but that much gratitude was bound to be pretty creepy and he would prefer her not to think of him as some lunatic. As he watched her look at the bucket with the fish swimming around in a tight circle, he couldn't help but lover her even more. She really did look like a child, with her sopping wet hair and the look of slight disgust or was it apprehension about the fish either way, she looked a mess and it was sweet. He sat there watching her change a small smirk on his face that told him that he wasn't surprised that she wasn't going to actually kill the fish. That just wouldn't have been her style.
As she settled back into him, he wrapped his arms around her, and started gently rubbing her arms to keep her warm. The sun was going down and even thought it was beautiful, it meant that the lake would be dark as obsedian and that could only mean trouble. So when she suggested that they head to land to make a fire and warm up with smores, he smiled widely and kissed her on the forhead. "Your are so brilliant." He laughed a little and moved so that she was more comfortable. He desperately wanted to just snuggle with her, especially after the long day that he had. "First thing though, you have to let fisher here back to his home." He pointed to the bucket with the fish. When she had finished, he kissed her again and smiled. "Now my darling, you are offically a fisherwomen." He smirked at the idea of her ever really being a fisherwomen. For some reason he just couldn't see that really happening.
It took just a few moments to get the boat started and a few more to get the boat back to sure. As they docked, he hopped out, tied the boat to the rung, and held out a hand for her. As they made their way to their cabin, his arm was wrapped around her shoulders. They made it to the cabin in no time, and he pushed open the door for her. "Now, you go change and I will get started on that roaring fire. We can even tell ghost stories." He laughed, he was actually having a beyond wonderful time with her. It took him a bit longer to get a fire started, simply because it had really been a rather long time since he had last done it, but he also grabbed an older blanket and spread it on the ground, he had gotten the items needed to feast on, and he had made sure that there was plenty of wood around so that he wouldn't have to continously get up and go get more. He figured that she would probably want a shower to get all the lake gunk our of her hair, but he wasn't sure about that, and all he wanted was to see her in firelight and kiss her senseless under the perfect starry night.
Whens he finally emerged he was laying on the planket with his hands behind his head and his feet crossed looking up the stars and the stories that they told. He could feel her presence before he actually saw her next to him. "Did you know Katya darling that becoming a constallation was a rather great honor. You would be forever remembered as one that always looked over others. It's actually sort of neat."

Katya was glad to be rid of the cursed fish that had caused her to be thrown off board for no good reason. She took the bucked and tossed the water back out onto the lake the fish happy to be back in its home once more. She wasn't exactly the type to be killing things. Katya really didn't have it in her heart to watch something die. Katya wasn't exactly a vegetarian though. She would avoid meat where she could and she didn't mind cooking it so long as she didn't have to see it with it's face on or watch it getting cut up for her. It was quite easy for her to forget that the meat had ever once been living and killed when it came all chopped up for her. It was as simple as that in her brain. So it wasn't like she would never cook Grant anything like meatloaf or pot roast or whatever it was that was his favorite meal. She would be more than happy to so long as she didn't have to watch it be killed. She was happy to be back with her Grant and to have him kiss her. She couldn't get enough of his affections. "Vell at least vone zhing vas accomplished dis veekend," Katya said to him. She wouldn't tell him that she didn't agree with him though. If he wanted to think that she was a fisher woman then let him do so. She wouldn't pop the bubble of his adorable delusion.
Grant didn't trust her to get out of the boat on her own and she had to admit that she didn't trust herself either and gladly took the hand that he was offering to her. She smiled as he helped her up and out of the boat and onto the dock. It was that pretty time in between sunset and the true night that Katya loved so much. Fireflies were coming out for the night and you could see their lights twinkling in the twilight as they walked back to the cabin. "Vell I hope you have a good ghost story to scare me vit, because to be honest, little Russian children are told ghost stories as bedtime stories." She said with a smile before going back into the house. It was pretty much true though what with the legends of Baba Yaga the old witch. She had done some pretty nasty things and yet they were stories told to young children. They were the fairy tales of her country. There was none of this Little Bo Peep nonsense. Katya was glad to be out of her wet clothes but her hair smelled like the lake and it wasn't a smell that she particularly liked so she went to go take a shower as well. She was in there for quite some time she knew, but the hot water was so inviting and she really wanted the lake out of her hair. She was even worse with pool water, so Grant should be lucky that she hadn't fallen into a pool. Changing into an outfit that was similar to what she was wearing before, Katya brought out another blanket and his sweatshirt as well as the turkey and regular mini hot dogs that Grant had forgotten in his rush to satisfy his sweet tooth.
It was easy enough to find Grant tending to the fire. She was by him in no time and he was talking about the constellations. Ask Katya what any constellation meant and she could tell you without thinking, ask her to find it in the sky and then there would be a few problems. She could find the Great Bear and the Little Bear. She could find Orion and the North Star. She could even find her own constellation, Capricorn, when it was in the sky, which it wouldn't be until December. All the others were a complete mystery to her. "Sounds interesting, how does vone become a constellation. Is zhere some sort of test? I vould surely fail, because to be honest, I vouldn't vant to look after everyone, I'd just look out for you," She said as she opened up both bags of hot dogs. "I don't care if it is your birthday or not, Smores are not dinner," She said to him and handing him a skewer with both normal and turkey hot dogs on it. She made one for herself of only turkey hot dogs and held it over the fire leaning onto Grants arms as she did so. "So vhat are ve going to be doing tomorrow, Mr. Grizzly Grant."

The idea of her being an actual one hundred and ten percent outdoor, wild fisherwomen made him laugh slightly. Not out of malice or meaness, it was more the idea of her in all her ballet glory prancing around a forest or a boat just made it more his imagination then anything else. He would suspect that if she was prancing around the forrest it would be because she was a wood nymph and not some boat women. Whatever his thoughts were, he was content with the fact that she had tried something knew, but that meant that he would have to try something equally as new to him for her, something part of her world, something that she would enjoy. At the idea of telling russian ghost stories to children, he had to admit it was a little odd.
Perhaps it was jut that their cultures were colliding a bit, but he couldn't really understand the idea of telling a young child about some yagga bagga or whatever. His mother always told him stories with happy ending, something like peter cotton tail and winnie the pooh and all the good things that made little chilredn doze off and have wonderful dreams. He always loved falling asleep to his mother's lilting proper english accent, it would make him feel as if he was the best thing in the world, and to her he was. that sense of family and security was something he cherished. He never really got the chance to tell his son stories of anykind and that put a slight mark on his face as he realized it. Hoping that she hadn't realized it and that it would just fall away. It did, and he was happy when she finally came back outside. "The fire light suits you, although i don't have any russian children's stories to tell you, but i can tell you that i'm happy here" He pulled her close and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her shampoo. "Very non-lake like, you smell wonderful."
He moved to sit up and listened to her as she said she would only want to watch after him. How he had gotten lucky to have found his first wife and then Katya, he would never know. "Well that's sweet of you, darling. If you were every a constellation, you would be a....." He thought about it for a moment and finally came up with the answer. "You, my dear girl, would be a swan." He gave a wide grin and took the skewer eyeing the turkey dogs. He stuck it over the fire and leaned back against a log. He heard the crickets and the night sounds and there was just something that was so nice about the night and something so nice about sitting outside in front of a fire with the smells of cooking hotdogs with the girl of his dreams. "Well, my darling swan, I haven't a clue what we will do tomorrow, maybe I will cook breakfast and we can just stay in bed most of the day. How does that sound?"

Compliments from Grant still made Katya blush considerably and made her momentarily shy. She would always try and hide herself whenever he would say something like that or she would try and deny it depending on the situation. She just turned herself into his side, and hid her face. "Thank you," she said leaned up to give him a quick kiss. No one ever said that the Russians were conventional with their ways. However, things were different in that part of Europe as opposed to Jolly Old England. No one ever called Russia Jolly Old Russia. So the fact that the bed time stories were a little different didn't really surprise her. If given some thought, the stories that were traditionally told to Russian children and today still, made a little bit of sense. "Our stories aren't meant to make a child feel all varm and fuzzy," Katya said remembering some of the tales of Vasilissa and Baba Yaga and the great weather god and his wife. "Zhey are meant to scare little children into behaving correctly. Dat vay, dey listen to zheir parents." She said explaining to him. It may have been an old way of thinking, but historically speaking, the Russians had always been a bit behind on everything that didn't include the arts. "Zhe stories get passed down zhrough time and zhen zhe just stick." Katya had always found it entertaining how a country that could be so Orthodox in religion could simultaneously still fear a witch from lore that was hundreds years older than the religion of the country. Then again people could believe just about anything no matter how outrageous it all sounded. No one ever said that humans were the brightest species out there.
"So I vould be like Cygnus?" Katya asked him remembering the name of the swan constellation. She couldn't remember what the story of that constellation was but then again she was really only ever good at remembering the names of the constellations and what they were. Grant probably knew more than she did since he liked camping and probably used them at one point to figure out where he was going. "You know, swans mate for life," Katya said recalling the fact that he was calling her a swan. Hopefully that didn't mean that she was going to sniffing around the subject of marriage. It was just something that she remembered. "Fun fact." She added on just to be safe. "Don't look at me like dat, zhey taste just zhe same except zhey are better for you because you actually know vhat it is unlike a hotdog, and if you know vhat is in the hotdog, do not tell me, I do not vish to know."Katya said shuddering at the fact. She had no clue what Americans put in these hotdogs of theirs, but she didn't want to know. She had to admit that she liked this. She was very content where she was holding a skewer of mini turkey dogs over a fire and laying into Grant's side. She was so spaced out that she had almost burnt her hotdogs. She pulled them out of the fire and let them cool. She listened to what Grant suggested that they do tomorrow and she had to admit that the plans sounded very un-Grant-like. She looked at him like she was wondering what he could possibly be up to. "If that's what you really want then I have no complaints. I just thought that you would just want to take advantage of your time here and want to spend the whole time outdoors. But vhatever you vant, I'm good vit," She said to him eating one of the hotdogs. "Just so long as you let me have a round with that bow of yours. You did promise to teach me how to use it," Katya said smiling finishing her last hotdog.
She took a bag of marshmallows and opened it up. Their sweet smell reached her nose and she was rather excited to make her first smore ever. "I've never made a smore before," Katya admitted to him handing the bag over. She put the rest of the ingredients between the two of them. There were plain Hershey bars, dark chocolate, chocolate with almonds and the cookies and cream Hershey bars as well. "John just said chocolate so I wasn't sure what kind to get. I got a few different kinds. I hope at least one of these is right," She said sounding a bit worried about the thing. She hated not knowing what she was supposed to do. She liked being capable and never having to rely on anyone for anything. She stuck a marshmallow on her skewer and put it over the fire. "So how do I know vhen it's done?" She asked him as her marshmallow stayed over the fire. She could have sworn that she had only looked to Grant for a second but when she looked back at the marshmallow it was on fire. "Bosche Moi! she gasped shocked at what she had done. She quickly pulled the marshmallow out of the fire and blew it out. Half of her marshmallow was burnt the color of charcoal and the other half looked like it had just come out of the bag. "I can't even roast a marshmallow the right vay," Katya said disappointed in herself. She had been hoping that there was one thing that she was going to be able to do right today, but sadly she had not been. She had fallen out of the boat and set the fish free and now she had burnt a marshmallow and couldn't even make a smore the proper way. "Maybe it's not a good idea for me to learn archery. That could be really dangerous."
