brittanya eliza brun
* tell us a little about yourself.
“Kay. So the name is Brittanya [Brit-tan-ya] Eliza Brun. Fun name right? Yeah. There’s nothing really behind the name, you know? It’s just a name. Not all names mean something. Anyways. There is a reason for my meaningless name. It’s a very simple reason, too. I think that you could get it if you look at it. No? Fine. My father’s grandmother’s name was Tanya and my mother’s great-grandmother’s name was Britta. Both of my parents wanted me to have the name of their choice and neither of them would budge. See, I told you it was self-explanatory. My name’s a mix of the two and I have to admit that it’s not a bad mix of the names. It could have been a catastrophic event. Um, people call me Brit, Tanya [Tan-ya], or Bebe. However, most people just call me Britanya. It’s not that I don’t let people get close enough to me for nicknames, well I don’t, but yeah that’s not it. I like my name. It’s very me. So yeah.
I am twenty years of age. When I talk to family they tell me that I’m ‘twenty going on one hundred and two’. I really hate when they say that. But anyhow, back to the topic at hand. Twenty. I was born on January 13th. So that makes me a Capricorn. I’m a college student. I want to be a chef. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, ever. So that’s what I go to school for. In addition to attending school I also work. I gotta pay for the stuff that I have, right?
I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana.
Hmm, people tell me that I look like this lady named Chanel Iman. I don’t know who she is, but I have seen a picture or two of her and I don’t think that I look like her.”
* what are some of your positive traits?
“Positive? All right, we’ll see what we can do.
I extremely DETERMINDED. Once I set my sights on something then I go for it. I think that my extreme determination comes from the fact that I grew up being told ‘no’ or ‘you can’t’. I always wanted to do whatever I wanted, or march to the beat of my own drummer. But I’ve always been told no. So I wanted to prove the nay sayers wrong and show then that I could do what I wanted. I love proving people wrong. I really want to be a chef and own my own restaurant. When I told people my dream, they would laugh at me and tell me that I would never be able to do it. That a girl like me could never have a restaurant. So now I here at college, another place that I was told that I would never get. I’m learning how to be the best and I’m gonna prove them wrong. I’ve got my eyes on the prize. To tie into my determination, I’m very HARDWORKING.
I also happen to be INDEPENDENT. I do things on my own, not because I’m afraid to ask for help, but because it was never offered to me.
In order to get to where I want to be I’ve become very RESOURCEFUL. Now, I’ll never be the next Newton or anything, but I can make use of what I have. I never let anything waste. The not letting stuff go to waste might be because I was raised in not the greatest conditions. However, I never use that as an excuse for why. I just don’t really want to waste anything. It really makes little to no sense if you think about it. Why waste something that you could use later?
* what are some things that you can improve on?”Hmm. Okay. Here goes it.
Some people view me as a KILLJOY, because I work so much that I don’t have time to relax. Having fun the way that others have fun is an unknown feeling to me. I’m most defiantly not the girl that you are going to find at a wild and out party, unless I’m working at it. I have my days scheduled out for a while: get up, get dress, get my tail to class on time, get to work, go home, sleep, and start all over again. I guess people don’t do the same thing every day. That’s not my idea of fun either, but it’s the way life goes. You can’t always have fun all the time.
I can’t do nothing; I get antsy. I hate looking at people do nothing. I just gets under my skin, I know that it shouldn’t, but it does. I also tend to get annoyed when people don’t know that value of a dollar. Why would you spend one hundred and ten dollars on a pair of shoes that you don’t even have anything to wear it with? It’s stupid to me. Then there are the people that have everything and anything just handed to them on a silver platter. Those type of people don’t bother me as much, but they bother me too. I guess that this means that I’m EASILY ANNOYED AND TEND TO RANT A LOT. I’ve always had the ranting bit, but the being annoyed bit is a little new. I’m not sure where that came from but it’s here.
