This application is finished!!!!!! leonardo greyson prewitt
* - - - once upon a time full name: Leonardo Greyson Prewitt nicknames: Leo is what he most often goes by, only his parents and those who don't know him tend to call him 'Leonardo'. Sometimes Lee is another nickname he hears as well. meaning of name: Rex is actually a Tyrannosaurus Rex toy, a name that is considerably longer then what he goes by. Leonardo is a longer name as well, and the character frequently goes by 'Leo', especially by those who know him best. Both nicknames are three letters, and so I felt that related. Also, Leonardo means 'lion' and 'brave'. In regards to the lion portion of the meaning, a lion is a creature that is known to be fierce and wild. This is something that Rex was supposed to be too, but in fact didn't live up to his stereotype in the least, and the same goes for brave. Greyson doesn't have any particular meaning in regards to the animated character, but it's a nod toward Leo's nationality, which is English, just like the name Greyson. Prewitt is also another English name that I felt fit in with the theme. It means both 'brave' and valorous', and although Rex isn't known for being either of those things, they are a big part of his character because it's lacked. It's cruel irony that Leo's name portrays him as someone with an abundance of courage and bravery, when in fact he severely lacks both of those things on the surface. He has it within him, but it doesn't come out easily. age: Thirty-six. birthday: February Twenty-seventh. occupation: Telemarketer. play by: Neil Patrick Harris. canon: Rex from Toy Story
* - - - the fairest of them allLeonardo is a handsome man who is smack dab between thirty and forty years old, although that's something he does his very best to keep under wraps. There are some telltale signs of aging though, starting off with wrinkles. There are three noticeable crease marks on his forehead that really stand out when he scrunches up his forehead or quirks his eyebrows. Leo has slight crow's feet on his eyes, and smile lines as well. Although he doesn't like the fact that he's aging especially since it's more noticeable, it gives his face character. Leo has small eyes that are a shade of steel blue, with a darker blue ring surrounding his irises. He has a decently sized nose that fits in pretty well with his face. It's somewhat pointed, and the tip rests a bit lower than the outer edges of it do. Leo has a very thin top lip that is nearly non-existent when a big smile is plastered across his face, and the lower one has a bit more meat to it but not much. Behind his light red lips are straight white teeth, a smile he was blessed with and has taken care of throughout the years. Although a lot of people tend to show emotions solely through their eyes, Leo's emotions are conveyed with his forehead, eyebrow, and mouth movements as well. In his opinion, he has those wrinkles on his forehead for a reason, the majority of his coming from scrunching his brow in worry. Emotions are something Leo really can't hide very well, not even if he tried. His face as a whole says more than his words usually can.
Mr. Prewitt has short blonde hair that is well kept. Naturally, his hair dark blonde, but he dyes it religiously so that it's lighter in color, although it's not nearly as light as it used to be when he was younger. When it comes to style, Leo spikes up the top of his hair, a style that he is cheerfully still young enough to pull off, while also making it look sophisticated. He always has a clean cut look these days, although he used to experiment with facial hair in his younger years, he no longer does so anymore. Leo does get a five o'clock shadow every now and again, but he does his very best to time it so that he shaves whenever it starts to appear. He has it down to a science, so there is scarcely a time when any facial hair is visible. Even when it is, it's not incredibly noticeable right away since he does have naturally blonde hair, even if it isn't as light as he would like it. Leonardo Prewitt's skin tone is light in color. He's not incredibly pale to the point where he looks sickly, but he's certainly not someone who goes tanning anywhere except the times when he's outside and it happens naturally. He tends to wear sunscreen in the summer time to avoid burning, so Leo's skin color stays pretty constant all year round.
Moving on to Leo's body, he stands tall at six feet, three inches. Although he's far from being fat, he's often been called 'big' growing up, due to his statuesque nature. Leo is used to his height, but he's not comfortable with it. A lot of times he sticks out in crowds when he would much prefer just to blend in with everyone else. It's something that has always bothered him. Leo isn't someone who would be considered ripped, but he likes to keep his body toned up. His muscles are lean and if he was even in a fight he could probably pack a healthy punch, but it would never happen, unless it was on accident. Clothes are something that are pretty important to Leo. He often has a severe lack in confidence, but his outfits surely don't show that aspect. He likes to look good because he hopes that more people will take him more seriously if he's dressed to perfection. That being said, Leo is almost always dressed in a formal manner. It's a very rare event when he's not wearing a collared button-up shirt. It's not out of the ordinary for said shirt to be paired up with a vest, suit jacket, or both if he's really wanting to look nice. He knows how to dress down the shirt in order not to stand out too much at places that have a casual attire, when it's cases like that he doesn't wear a tie and tends to leave the first couple buttons to the shirt undone. He's more lenient with his choice in pants and often uses them to either dress up an outfit or dress them down, depending on where he's headed. Although Leonardo is put together quite nicely, he's not comfortable in his own skin. * - - - look deep insideThere are numerous factors composed up to make Leonardo Prewitt, but perhaps the largest, most noticeable part of Leo is his utter lack of confidence in himself that tends to pop and plague him at the most inopportune times. His biggest fear that really has a handle over his life, is that he'll be a disappointment to those he cares about, and somehow let them down in one way or another. He already feel like he's tremendously let his parents down and although he knows that it's not truly a fair assessment, it's really had an effect on him throughout his life. He also worries a lot about being replaced by someone better then him, in the lives of those who matter to him. Despite how much reassurance he gets in the opposite way, Leo still has many insecurities that words cannot cure unless from the mouth of someone he truly respects, but even then the words don't do much.
He has grown to live with his insecurities and even though they pop up constantly about the most various of subjects, Leo does have good qualities to him that are able to shine through as well. One thing that he prides himself in is his ability to be a good friend. When someone makes their way into his heart, he truly attaches himself to them and does everything within his power to be there for them, although sometimes it takes some reassurance depending on the situation. Leo considers himself to be a loyal person for the most part, it would take a lot for him to turn his back on a friend. Something that comes fairly easy to him is being able to talk to others, as long as they don't give off a bad vibe. He was raised in a proper household, so Leo has always had exceptional manners. He likes to meet new people and talk with them, although he doesn't do too well in big groups of people he doesn't know. One or two new people are fine though, especially if he has a friend along with him.
If there is another thing that really shows the type of person Leonardo is, he absolutely loathes conflict. He does his very best to avoid it all costs and when he can't, he gets very nervous and tries his best to maneuver his way from the situation without offending anyone. Because of that trait, he can also be a bit of a push over. Since he doesn't like to offend people, if a situation arises that he is uncomfortable with and can't get away from, he generally will say what he has to in order to get out of it. Leo gets very stressed out when people are fighting around him, even if the situation doesn't include him at all. He would much prefer everyone to get along and if they can't, he would settle for not being pulled into the middle of disagreements.
Although he isn't good at handling his own issues because he tends to over think them way too much, another thing that Leo excels at is helping others. He's not good in the heat of battles, but if a friend needs to talk to him about a problem that has come up, he's a good listener and generally gives out pretty good advice. Overall, Leo doesn't do too well when left alone because it gives him too much time to think things over. He does best in the company of those he cares about and that's when he's truly able to shine. He's not the most confident person in the world, but he has a good heart. He often underestimates himself and doesn't give himself enough credit, but if he did, he would see that he's not quite the coward he thinks he is. * - - - the family honorAbbey Hughes and Geoffrey Prewitt of London, England were two people cut from the same cloth, or so people have said. Both were raised with a very strict religious devotion, and it was something that both of them took quite seriously throughout their life. When they met one day at church, it was love at first sight. They took things slow however and after a couple of years of exclusive dating, the two finally got engaged to one another once they were positive it was the right choice for them, as neither believed in divorce. It was a union that went over quite well with both families and everything seemed to be going just perfect for the newlyweds. After a year into their marriage, Abbey found out that she was pregnant with their first child. It was a rough pregnancy, but Abbey was quite the trooper and managed to pull through it, giving birth to a baby boy that she and Geoffrey dubbed Leonardo Greyson Prewitt. The name Leonardo was decided upon because Leonardo DaVinci just so happened to be Abbey's favorite artist, who had created the lovely and timeless painting of the Last Supper. Greyson was a family name from Geoffrey's side, so it was something that the couple found fitting.
Leonardo was a timid young boy, he was raised in a strict household and was taught manners and good habits from the very start. His parents were incredibly protective over him, because aside from being their first born child, he was to be their only child as well. Since it would be much too risky for Abbey to have any more children, his parents figured they only had one shot with raising a child and wanted to do their very best by him. Aside from strict parents though, Leonardo had a happy childhood, his parents were very close to him and he did well when it came to studies at school. He didn't particularly excel in making friends because the young boy was overtly shy, but he had a few acquaintances from church that his parents arranged play dates with. They weren't always particularly enjoyable because they were forced, but it did help Leo gain some social skills. Things in his life continued much of the same way until one event when he was nine years old that changed his life forever. Leo was a bit awkward when he was younger, he was tall and lanky even for a nine year old and was bigger than the other children. Normally size would intimidate the other children, but he was so shy that he was often pushed around despite his size. He never really was taught how to stand up for himself by his parents. One day some older girls cornered him at school and were giving him a hard time. Leo wasn't that great at being social in the first place, but especially not when people got in his face and badgered him. Lucky for him, a delightful girl a year younger then him came to his rescue and saved him from the older girls that he couldn't seem to ward off on his own. Lilianne Lawrence quickly became his very best friend and pretty soon, she was arguably the most important person to ever come into his life.
For as long as Leo could remember, his father, grandfather, and uncles went on big hunting trips. It was something that the boy had never been interested in, and his mother had insisted that he stay home with her because she didn't feel it was safe or proper for a young boy to go hunt down wild animals. When he was twelve though, his father finally convinced her that it would be good for Leo. He used the reasoning that a hobby would be healthy for him and would perhaps help him relate to other boys his age or at least give him something to talk about. Although Leo was very much against the idea, it wasn't his choice and was out of his hands. He was squeamish just heading out to the woods and the first time he heard a shotgun blast, he thought he was going to have a heart attack. None of it compared to what happened when his uncle shot a deer though. Leonardo was absolutely stunned when the deer went down and when he was dragged closer to see just what his uncle had managed to shoot, he lost it. The moment he saw the blood up close, his stomach twisted sharply and all the contents in it quickly were thrown up. After that he just couldn't take it anymore and passed out on the spot. It was a horrible and scarring experience for him, his mind blocked out the majority of it, but it's had quite the effect on him over time. He absolutely cannot stand the sight of blood without getting sick to his stomach and if it's bad enough, fainting is entirely possible.
Although he was under the strict impression that life would not continue after the experience, it did just that. He got older and remained close to the friend he had made when he was nine years old, Lilianne. In fact, he and Lili were quite the inseparable pair, his parents were happy to see that he had gained such a close friend in his life, it was a nice change from his childhood years. When it was time for secondary school, Leonardo began to notice something that he had always felt. He didn't really fit in with the other boys his age as far as he could tell. Aside from being bigger then most of the other kids his age, he was quite self conscious and although he was nice and polite, he didn't really have many friends. Those weren't the only things that weren't the same though, while all the other boys began to date girls, Leo just didn't feel the same way. His other half was already in his life, but Leo just wasn't romantically interested in Lilianne like he might have been in a different life. Once Leo figured out what was different, it didn't take him long to confide in Lili about his sexuality.
Once he figured himself out more, instead of going back into his usual shell, he came out for once. He started to gain more friends and although he still had quite a large amount of insecurities, time away from his parents really helped him learn how to accept himself in his teenage years. Leo was rather open at school about most things, and when Lili's family moved away for a while, he managed to keep himself sane. It was a hard time when she was away but he did learn how to fend for himself, even though he really didn't like it. When his friend returned she went through her own share of hard issues and just like she supported him over the years, Leo did his very best to support her in return.
Up until he was twenty-one years old, he had kept the fact that he was gay quite hidden from his family, even going to far as to claiming that he and Lili were in a relationship in order to avoid suspicion. His best friend had gotten into a serious relationship at that point though, and although he could have kept putting up the facade, he was rather sick and tired of it. His parents were constantly urging him to propose and start a family, as they were rather pushy when it came to grandchildren. He had lived with such encouragement throughout his teen years, with constant comments about how they couldn't wait until he found the right girl to settle down with so he could start a family of his own. At the time he was going through a break-up of a somewhat serious relationship, so he was already on edge. His mother made a comment, and he finally spilled it all to them, that he was gay and had known for years. As he had always expected, his parents didn't take too well to the news. Neither one spoke to him for a couple of weeks, until his mother made a phone call, trying to talk him out of it. This, of course, did nothing to help his inferiority complex. There is nothing like a parent trying to talk a child out of being who they truly are. Leo had a lot of issues with self-esteem growing up, and it's something that his parents did not help out with in the least.
It wasn't hard to leave England for Leo, not really. There was really nothing for him there and the one person that matters the most to him happens to be Lilianne Lawrence, even after all those years. So when she left, so did he. It was nice to get away from his parents again and he found a job working for a large corporation in Walten City. As the years have passed, Leo has become exceedingly more paranoid. He feels as though he's lived his life so far for nothing, because in the end, what does he truly have to show for all his years? He has a best friend and while he wouldn't trade her for the world, he was also hoping to have more of a stake in the world then he does. In his eyes, he's working at a dead end job where he could easily be replaced by someone younger with more training, not to mention he doesn't even like his job to begin with. He goes home to an empty house everyday and it's just become a rather depressing existance.
* - - - connect the dots Career: In the movie, he didn't really do much in this area. He was one of Andy's toys though, and those toys were there in order to bring joy to Andy and to keep him occupied. Outside of Andy's room, he really wasn't anything that special, if looking at it through a realistic standpoint. Rex also had a severe lack of confidence more often than not, so I figured that putting him at an office job where he gets walked on constantly would be fitting. Eventually I would think that he'd finally get the gumption to stand up for himself, but he's not there yet. I wanted to try and incorporate his constant need of approval and feelings of inadequacy in his job as well. Rex didn't have a job in the movie, aside from being there to make Andy happy. He often fretted over the idea of being replaced by a scarier dinosaur, stating that he didn't think he could 'take that kind of rejection'. He also had mentioned the fact that he would like it if a leaf eater would be added to the mix of toys. I think this fits in with his office job, not wanting to be replaced by someone with more initiative then he has, or someone younger with stronger degrees then he has, although he would like it if another friendly face came to work at the place, without replacing him of course.
Play-by and Appearance: Neil Patrick Harris is the same age as the character that I wanted to create. He's also on the taller side of things, so I thought that related to how big Rex was compared to most of the other toys. Other than that, I didn't really have a whole lot to go on, seeing as Rex wasn't human in the movie. He does have eyes that are small and close together, and I think that Neil Patrick Harris shares this trait.
Personality: Rex often demonstrates his fear of being a disappointment, as well as a fear of being replaced. He's in a body that really doesn't fit his character. A t-rex has the reputation of being fearsome, scary, and tough, but Rex certainly doesn't fall under any of those categories. Leo is a man, someone who is expected to be tough, stick up for himself, get married, and someday have children. Both have something expected of them, and neither one of them are actually any of those things that others expect them to be. Needless to say, it puts a lot of stress on them both. Rex often makes comments
Rex is a loyal character, although he does succumb to peer pressure, but he seemed to need proof first. I feel that he really only succumbs is because Rex does pretty much everything in his power to avoid confrontation if he can help it. This is rather true with Leo as well, although for him to ever turn his back on his friend, it would truly take a lot. For Rex, it took one of his friends being dismembered (and in his mind, probably murder or goodness knows what else) to turn his back on his other friend. For Leo, it would probably take about the same. Once Rex found out what actually happened, he was very guilty for ever doubting Woody in the first place, as summed up by him saying: "Great! Now I have guilt!" Getting back to the avoidance of confrontation, Rex really did everything in his power to stay out of fights. It's very clear that he dislikes picking sides and much prefers everyone to just get along, otherwise he stresses out. When put in the situation where he had to either believe Woody or take Buzz's side of things, he quite noticeably flip flopped between sides before getting too stressed to go any further. "Uh... yeah... uh, I mean no... uh... I don't like confrontations!" Leo is the same way. He can't stand being put in the middle of situations, and would much rather be off on the sidelines. What he'd prefer even more, is if everyone was just accepting of each other and everyone was friends. Of course, that's not logical, but it certainly would be nice in Mr. Prewitt's opinion.
Rex also is friendly as long as he isn't concerned about something and tends to do his best to help when he can and feels he is able. He's social and good with new people, as shown when Buzz arrives in Andy's room for the first time, and he's the first to approach and shake his hand. I tried to reflect this in Leo as best as I could. Leo is charismatic and warm to most everyone if he does in fact decide to strike up a conversation with them. He's also rather polite when first meeting someone. Rex too was also shown to be polite in the movie, when he refers to Buzz as 'Mr. Lightyear', upon first meeting him, another trait that he and Leo share.
Leo can give out advice to others for their issues in live with little issue, but figuring out his own problems? Certifiably impossible. His helpful nature and ability to give out advice while not being able to take it ties into a part of the second movie. Rex tries to beat Buzz Lightyear: Attack on Zurg so hard, but despite the encouragement from his friends around him, is unable to do so. However, the things he learns from the video game does give him confidence, and eventually when in Al's Toy Barn, he finds a guide to the game. Later, he gives tips to the Bonus Belt Buzz on how to beat Zurg, and ultimately saves the day on accident. This is only after he talks things over with Bonus Belt Buzz. He was able to give advice that was useful, but he never actually beats the video game (because he did so in real life, which was better to Rex). Leo is able to give advice and gains confidence from the successes of others and often doesn't give himself enough credit, but in the end he has managed to pull through, no matter what the adversary, at least so far.
History: Leo has a weak stomach and absolutely detests things like horror movies, because he simply cannot handle it. This relates to Rex, when Woody and Buzz are in Sid's house and Andy's toys are talking to Woody from the window. When Woody accidentally shows the other toys Buzz's arm that had broken off, Rex vomits immediately. Leo is horrible when it comes to injuries or gore, aside from the fact that he's gets frightened easily anyway, his mind makes things so much worse then they actually are, just like Rex seemed to. In his history, I put in the part about him going hunting as a young man to really reiterate this feeling and give him a realistic reason for hating gore. Also, it's a nod toward Rex's specie, since they are carnivorous and hunted for food. I can't see Rex really wanting to take part in that, and Leo certainly doesn't either. Not much was shown about Rex's history in the movie, so I basically took my creativity and did my best to mold him a history that I thought would give Leo the personality that Rex had. Through all his trials of his life, he is still here and I think that is something that is important. No matter what Rex has to go through and how hard it can be for him, he manages somehow and always makes it out in the end, with the help of his friends.
